Service Assurance

fully modular, scalable family of packet brokers for Gigabit, 10G networks, 40G networks and even 100G Networks.

Packet Broker Appliances and System-level Capabilities

The nGenius Series provides network-wide visibility by accessing, capturing, and brokering traffic from one or more full-duplex networks to multiple passive network monitoring and security tools. Policy-based triggers, health checks, and fail-open / fail-closed configurability combine with filtering , grooming and load balancing to provide redundancy and high availability for in-band and out-of-band visibility.

The nGenius 2200 series packet flow series is a fully modular, scalable family of packet brokers that bridge the gap between Gigabit and 10G networks.
Hardware-accelerated packet optimization and active tool chaining deliver advanced packet flow switching for 10G networks. Modular chassis provides up to 24 10GigE/1GigE ports:

  • Simplify operational complexity
  • Enhance efficiency of security systems
  • Easily scalable your visibility plane with self-organizing mesh architecture
  • Add, test, and change security systems without network disruption
  • Filter and forward only the traffic of interest to each monitoring or security system
  • Manage a variety of network protocols, including encrypted packets
  • Buffer and mitigate issues resulting from bursty traffic conditions

nGenius 4200 Series Packet Flow Switch

Hardware-accelerated packet optimization for service assurance and security systems on 40G networks.

  • Buffer and mitigate issues resulting from bursty traffic conditions

vBroker™ VB6000

The VSS VB6000 Network Packet Broker (NPB) chassis is alarge scale, high density system that bridges the gap between Gigabit, 10 GigE, 40 GigE, and 100 GigE networks and tools, at an unprecedented scale. The VB6000 is a 15U chassis that supports up to ten installed line cards. Each line card supports up to 600Gbps throughout, with variations of 100G CFP2, 40G QSFP+, and 10G/1G SFP+ ports. All ports on each line card are enabled by default, with any port designated as an input port, intermediate port, or an output port, i.e. all ports are fully I/O configurable.

This system can be locally managed via a serial console and remotely managed via a GUI, CLI, XML API, and VSS management Center (vMC) using HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, Telnet, and SNMPv3.

vMC

The VSS Monitoring Management Center (vMC) is a client–server based management software application that enables the visualization and management of both multiple interconnected and standalone VSS network packet brokers (NPBs) through a central server.

Each NPB within vMC can be administered remotely for updates and configurations, while providing reports at both system and granular per-port levels.
vMC provides all of the configuration options available when managing NPBs individually including model specific settings and filters. Additionally, vMC offers several features that support the management of a system of VSS network packet brokers, also known as a vMesh architecture.

Using VSS network packet brokers together with vMC, you can make better use of your monitoring and security tools, simplify operational complexity and realize a higher ROI from additional cost savings and service quality improvements.
